Crochet Chevron Pillow cover {free pattern}

This cover is for a 60*40 cm pillow

I'm using Bernat Baby Denim Marl with Clover E 3.5 mm

+ c: chain
+ sc: single crochet
+ db: double crochet

Start with 140 chains, then join to make a circle

R1: 5c, (9 db, skip 2c, 9db, 2c)* do like this for 6 times, 9db, skip 2c, 8db, then join into the 3rd chain of the beginning.
R2: 5c, (9 db, skip 2 stitches, 9db, 2c)*6, 9db, skip 2 stiches, 8db, join into the 3rd chain of the beginning
from R3: do the same as R2 until you reach the length of 60 cm.

* Edging: crochet the edge with sc on each stitch all around

* How to make Buttons:

R1: Make an adjustable ring, do 10sc into the ring.

Use a plastic circle loop size 1.5 cm diameter.

R2: Crochet with the plastic circle, do 10 increase sc

You will need 14 buttons. Sew the buttons onto both hill-tops and valleys, 7 buttons for each side. Seal each button by the hole of the other face, and you're done! ^_~

Susuwatari soot sprites crochet amigugumi keychain {free pattern}

Today I'm going to show you how to crochet the Totoro soot
And hereafter is the pattern:

Start with a Magic Ring
R1: 6 sc
R2: 2sc together x 6 times = 12sc
R3: (1sc, 2sc together) x 6 = 18sc
R4, 5 & 6: 18sc
R7: (2sc, 1 decrease) x 3 = 15sc, fill in fiber
R8: (1sc, 1 decrease) x 3 = 12sc
R9: 6 decrease and seal to finish

then, use hot glue gun to stick the eyes for them, and you're done!

You can also cut some felt fabric stars to make their food, punch a little hole and attach with a chain or a phone strap.

* about the yarn used to crochet, I chose the fur yarn to make a fuzzy look for the soots. I've tried 2 different fuzzies so far, as the photo up there and ones below. If you are not able to find those kinds of yarn, just use regular cotton, it still looks cute.

Finished soots made with 2 mm yarn measure about 3.5 cm diameter. Use hooks from size 2 mm to 3 mm.

I sell these finished soots on my Etsy shop International purchase is available

Invisible increase single & double crochet, pattern & how-to video

This is how I increase the single crochets invisibly.

With this technique, you will create somewhat like one extra single crochet in between. And so the 3 single crochet stitches line in the evenly looking horizon instead of the normal V and it makes the stitch-foot hole look smaller.

Video tutorial:

* July 5th, new added

I also use this technique for double crochets & I have to say it even works much better than the single crochets!! ;)
